Datacubed Health is looking for an experienced Android Engineer. Our product ranges from cutting-edge web applications to mobile natively apps that supports clinical research for healthcare, pharma, and academic institutions. Our tools leverage novel techniques for data collection and analysis and our engineering team is growing to support our expanding SaaS platform.

This position will report to the Director of Mobile Engineering and is a remote position working within the Eastern Time zone.

Roles and Responsibilities

  •  Design and build applications for the native Android platform using Java and Kotlin
  • Integrate application with backend system components and third-party services
  • Effectively contribute and perform in a squad structure while following the software development lifecycle
  • Identify bottlenecks and investigate critical crashes, and in turn provide effective and reliable fixes
  • Ensure unit test coverage for all the new development work.
  • Communicate regularly and write clean code. Review, analyze and resolve application issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of new functionalities

 Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 1-2 plus years of Android development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant Certificate/Trainings
  • Experience programming in both Java and Kotlin
  • Knowledge and demonstrable work on the recent Android framework changes.
  • Strong working knowledge of JSON, REST, HTTP, Node.js
  • Knowledge on how to implement and manage RESTful API’s.
  • Good understanding on multi-tier architectures, design patterns and best practices
  • Familiar with Google’s design principles and interface guidelines
  • Experience with build distribution processes
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flows
  • Knowledge and/or experience in using Jetpack Compose
  • Experience in using LiveData and Room
  • Understanding on working with ReactNative integration
  • Experience with Continuous integration
